I think we’re all fascinating. I believe, like HONY, that each human is magical, interesting and very important. It’s what makes life so colorful, isn’t it? That we bump into, fall in love with, and fight against people who are factually and unequivocally unrepeatable. It’s staggering, really.
You’ve got to recognize, there will never be another you. It has nothing to do with ego; it happens to be the truth. Mickey Rooney
Therefore, since I love making new friends so much, HLU will feature an Amazing Human each month. These new friends are talented and uber creative, using their God-given talents (and lots and lots of very hard work) to make life more interesting and WAY more colorful.
I hope you enjoy this series and can take a moment to comment on the wonderful contributions these stars are making!
If you don’t have her art in your life, you’re missing out on something truly whimsical, lively and just plain beautiful. She works with color and texture-primarily on canvas-to achieve emotions in three dimensions. I have no idea how she does it, I just know the result is distinct and special.
I have always been fascinated with color. All colors; muted colors, bright colors, dull colors, ugly colors, and all in between. I have always wondered, and thought (for more hours than I will admit), how everyone sees them individually and what that means about their reaction to that color.
When I was teaching, I always told my students that color was the most important element of art.
Born in Alabama but living now in Texas, Robin and her husband have three precious children whose opinions and perspectives influence her approach. They’re often given photo creds in her IG account and used for relative scale for large projects (or at least it helps ME to see them next to a painting…I never know how big or small something is unless I have a comparison I can understand :)).
Your living room or hallway or kids’ bedroom would thank you for the gift of Robin’s art. It brings a pop of something–happiness? enthusiasm? joy? unexpected?–to your space. She’s funny, self-deprecating, brave and very humble. Robin Ewing is a great person whose abstract art brings something authentic and very concrete to life. Bravo, friend!
Amazing artist and amazing human.
